Solutions

Bounties only work if the payout is believable before anyone starts. A thread where the last three visibly landed is a stronger promise than a stated intention, because it is not something the poster can quietly rewrite. Awarding it is one reply to the answer that won, and everyone reading sees who was paid and how much.
